The Bottom Of The Bowl.
Everyone has the same memory and nobody talks about it. You eat the cereal. The cereal is fine. The cereal is not the point. The point is what is sitting in the bottom of the bowl afterwards, which is milk that has spent twenty minutes becoming something else. Sweeter. Heavier. Faintly the color of the thing that was in it. You drink it straight from the bowl, at speed, and then you go outside.
That is the flavor. Not the cereal. The milk.
Nobody Was Selling It.
We checked. There is candy that tastes like fruit, candy that tastes like coffee, candy that tastes like a cola that does not exist. There is an entire aisle of it. There was nothing that tasted like the last inch of a Saturday morning, which seemed like an oversight, because that flavor is not obscure. Roughly everyone born between 1985 and 1999 can identify it blind.
So the brief was short. Make the milk. Make it soft. Make it fit in a pocket.
So We Made It A Chew.
Milk, sugar and butter, cooked down until it goes soft and slightly sticky and holds a flavor without shouting about it. Cut into pieces. Wrapped one at a time, because a bag of unwrapped milk candy is a bag of one large milk candy. Four flavors, because four is the number of cereals anyone actually remembers.
There is no origin story past this. It is candy that tastes like the milk. You know the milk. We are not explaining further.
